Stranger Encounters Have Occured

Just a Stroll.

As self professed photographer/traveler/documentarian/confrontationist/interested subject, I, Austin Buckingham, hit the streets of Kansas City, a new place I call "home" on this planet.  maybe it was the safety of the suburbs (was that false itself?), or the mundane highlights of simply knowing, with some familiarity, the human elements to my surroundings; but, knowing the name of the ladies at the gas station down the street (and on the corner), the old man who put up the most Christmas lights every year, or the brothers who other kids told you to stay away from.  They are all just people, and i feel too distanced from them if we are not able to simply approach and communicate.  The emotions then were as all-encompassing as most experiences (the fears, anxieties, cool composure, and other signs of character we emit), though some naivety of childhood surely helped.
repetition brings some sense of familiarity.  So within the motions of your everyday life i hope to enter some bit of an average moment, with, yes, an intrusion, but hopefully a not unpleasant few moments of our time.  i did so for the sake of speaking out in some way that i know how, through the lens (a personal comfort zone).  To break if even for a forgotten second into one another's presences, and capture them for no other reason than to initiate interaction in the first place.  A hopeful call to re-Engage a docile, social aspect of the Community of Mankind, listening for a response from those ever-interesting brothers and sisters, and their experiences.

quite a lot for a few moments of snapping pictures back and forth, but i must say stranger encounters have occurred.
